Our association exists to provide and promote sport and recreation for disabled people, but it also has a strong social side, which helps to bind the association together, provide a friendly club atmosphere and also to provide much-needed funds.
We have a thriving membership from throughout Warwickshire and the neighbouring Midlands counties

Games Nights. These are held regularly in local clubs or pubs. These provide an opportunity for a variety of pastimes including playing skittles or table games in a friendly relaxed atmosphere. A raffle helps to boost our funds. Splash NightsThese are held two or three times a year and are an opportunity to have more fun in the pool than our normal sessions. We normally have the pool from 7 till 8pm for swimming and similar forms of recreation. This is then followed by more fun, games and leisure pastimes in the cafe, with refreshments, including chips, available. Sometimes a single lane is roped off and the opportunity is taken to time swimmers for competition purposes or to run the association swimming championship, but by and large the whole pool is given over to the pursuit of fun. Family and friends are welcome. Again a raffle helps to boost our funds.
Jamaican NightThis is a good night out for all the family that has been an annual event for over 20 years: A three-course meal of real Jamaican food, with music provided by a steel band. You won’t be surprised that a raffle is used to boost our funds. This popular event is timed to lighten up the dark winter evenings and is usually over-subscribed Christmas partyThis is always a popular event, featuring a disco, lots of party games and a buffet, usually with an added attraction such as Fancy Dress or a silly hat competition Ten Pin BowlingThis could be regarded as Sport or as Social and there is certainly a strong element of competition, but there is also a fun atmosphere and with food and drink available it is always a good night out The above are just some of our many social activities, which are often chosen by our members on an ongoing basis. |
